a little bit of everything

Romans was fabulous, as promised. loaded with doctrine that we peeled apart. more scuba diving. :) i would love to scuba dive like this the rest of my life....and normal scuba dive too for that matter. maybe i'll go get my certification and go somewhere crazy like the great barrier reef. anyway, we laid out Romans in an organized way and i thought i'd pass it along...chapters 1-3: righteousness needed, chapter 4: righteousness given, chapter 5: righteousness assured, chapter 6: righteousness validated, chapter 7: righteousness wrestled with, chapter 8: righteousness secured, chapters 9-11: righteousness promised to Israel, chapters 12-16: righteousness manifested in the body.

this week Pete Deison from PCPC (Park City Presbyterian Church) in Dallas came and spoke about the Holy Spirit. i appreciate that he came and spoke after our belief statements on the Holy Spirit were already formulated because then i had more of a working knowledge on what i believe and could listen with a more discerning ear. always a good thing. :)

my time here is quickly coming to an end, and i'm striving to maximize every opportunity and relish it because i know i will miss this time more and more as i continue withthe next step of God's plan for my life. i don't know for sure what i'm doing next fall, but i'm pursuing options and i know that i will be back in Lampe working kamp at K2 through August 12th so that much is taken care of. please be praying with me about where the Lord will lead me and what He wants me to be doing in the fall.

the last update i have for you is about this past weekend. i had the chance to go down to New Orleans for Mardi Gras with some friends here and it was a blast. Kat is from New Orleans, so she was able to take us around and show us the best of everything....including food!!!! Beignets are so much better than any donut i'll ever eat again, and i now know how to peel my own crawfish. doesn't mean i like to, but i know how and that's all that matters. we got to spend time with kat's family and some of her friends that i met a few weekends ago (plus new ones i had never met!). i had a blast this past weekend and i'm so thankful for kat's friendship. she's an incredible blessing, and i'll never be able to spend enough time with her. here are some pictures from this past weekend. hope you enjoy!

with Kat at the Endymion parade Saturday night in New Orleans

with Shira and Kat at the LSU/UNC gymnastics meet Friday night in Baton Rouge

God has blessed me beyond measure (ephesians 3:20) with amazing women to call my friends. and He continues to do so!! i am blown away by His goodness and the grace He continually shows me in bringing such strong women into my life. they are my irons (Proverbs 27:17). i pray the same is true for each of you.

so the world may know,
bekah <><

live for Jesus. laugh uncontrollably. love unconditionally.

Beks...I just love hearing what God is teaching you at the institute! Each time I read your blog or talk to you on the phone you have grown more and more. God is good, huh? :) I am so excited about where the Lord is taking you. Get ready for the ride of your life!! Being in this season of "unknown" is great because our dependency on the Lord sure does increase! I will definitely be praying for you as the Lord leads you in the next season of your life. Also, I want you to know that I have been abundantly blessed by your friendship through the years. I can't believe that it has only been 3 years since we met at kamp...it feels like we have known each other for longer than that! Anyways, I love you my friend and I am beyond thankful that you are a part of my group of "irons" in my life! Can't wait to see you!
Praising Him,
Joy
