round one

well week one is now officially over and it was a whirlwind. we did more in a week than i've done in a long time. we all agree that it feels like we've been on "the island" for at least a few months already. we got a taste of classes this past week, but tomorrow we really start classes and get into the full swing of things. and for those of you who know me well, i want you to know that i didn't have time to make my bed a single time this week and my clothes aren't color-coordinated like usual. life is crazy!

we left this past thursday to go on a camping trip down in Arkansas on the Buffalo River and it was a blast! we hiked, did some cliff jumping, made s'mores, and basically just had as much fun as possible in the woods for three days.

i'm really enjoying getting to know everyone in my class...52 of us in all. everyone comes from such different backgrounds, but we're all here with one goal. i love it. we've been sharing testimonies when we have little pockets of time, so it's been great to hear how everyone got to this point and how the Lord has worked in their life thus far.

this past week i also found out that my host family is none other than Trish Helsel's family so that was exciting. She's our K2 Women's director at kamp in the summer and also the Executive Women's director for Kanakuk Kamps. i was already going to be spending time at her house, so this just gives me another excuse to go spend time with her and her family. side note: Trish makes cookies every day because she knows people are always coming through. YUM!! i'm so excited about this next year and the ways i'm going to grow and be challenged.

as for prayer: my internship is still up in the air and i would like to get the details squared away so i can start meeting with my girls. thanks for your prayers and encouragement. the Lord is good.

so the world may know,
bekah <><

live for Jesus. laugh uncontrollably. love unconditionally.

Beks, I am so proud of you and I couldn't be more excited for what the Lord is going to do through you this year!! I loved getting to catch up on the phone last night. Hopefully the first couple of days of class aren't too crazy. Can't wait to talk again. Love you and I'm praying for you!
